Deberah B. Kelley Appointed Executive Vice President of Wealth Management

WALNUT CREEK, CA, January 2, 2014 — Mechanics Bank today announced the appointment of Deberah B. Kelley as Executive Vice President of Wealth Management.

An experienced financial executive, Ms. Kelley’s more than 20 years as a financial executive most recently included leading the Personal Trust team as the Senior Fiduciary Officer in the Trust & Investment Management division of Exchange Bank. Prior to assuming her role as the Senior Fiduciary Officer, Ms. Kelley managed the Private Banking team in which she originated a consulting-based financial practice for high net worth clients. She has recruited, trained and managed investment, trust and private banking officers and she led the bank’s new business effort in Personal Trust.

“Debbie has focused exclusively in the area of Wealth Management throughout most of her career, and has worked in virtually every job function in Wealth Management,” says Christa Steele, Mechanics Bank CEO. “She brings exceptional expertise in the area of regulatory compliance, financial and estate planning, planned charitable giving, trust administration and probate. Ms. Kelley is a CPA, CFP and Accredited Estate Planner. She received a BS in Accounting from California State University, Chico and a Masters in Taxation from Golden Gate University, San Francisco. She graduated Pacific Coast Banking School in 2008.

A resident of Sonoma County, Ms. Kelley serves on the board of directors of both the Community Foundation Sonoma County and the United Way of the Wine Country.
